Privacy is becoming a more contentious issue in 2010. Sites like FaceBook, MySpace and Google seem to have an over-arching requirement to hand over every detail of our personal lives to them. Perhaps we can find a more socially acceptable way of constructing a privacy policy for this site. There seems to be a huge conflict between the members of a community and the information that is required to fully utilise a site. My personal belief is that this is caused by the commercial needs of running a site in conflict with what we know to be socially and spiritually correct. It appears that facebook claim right to everything that is posted upon their site. This feels wrong to me, they are your pictures and text, your creations and memories. The David Icke site is currently ( 03 January 2010) attempting to deal with some privacy issues by becoming draconian with it's privacy and deleting any dissenting views, could this be through commercial pressures? I feel that a balance must be struck between the commercial viability of a site and the privacy that it's users enjoy. Is this the end of the free internet?

As more and more people become aware of censorship and abuse of information, I hope that they'll look for alternatives.
I think that good people have to step forwards and if something is wrong then they must attempt to fix it. Perhaps a site needs to have multiple privacy policies depending on the level of support that a user gives to a site? As our real life communities are divided and broken up, we need to find new ways of building communities.
